CMSCVA 2014-15 Season Ticket
Enjoy all seven of our ticketed events for 2014-15 at a reduced rate. Experience the best of chamber music, from well-loved standards, to Baroque music on period instruments, to exciting contemporary music - in Richmond's best small venues.
Our season ticket includes the following concerts.
Austro-Hungarian Waltz Date: Monday October 27, 7:30pm Location: Bon Air Presbyterian Church "In this concert of chamber music for piano and strings, the Chamber Music Society salutes the 18th and 19th century Austrian Empire, a European capitol that dominated the world of classical music."
Winter Baroque: Complete Bach Cello Suites Date: Tuesday December 16, 7:30pm Location: Church of the Holy Comforter "Don't miss this opportunity to hear the complete suites for solo cello by J.S. Bach, performed on period 4 and 5-string cellos. For this rare evening, CMSCVA Artistic Director James Wilson is joined by Beiliang Zhu, winner of the 2012 International Bach Competition in Leipzig."
Winter Baroque: Dido and Other Heroines Date: Saturday January 10, 7:30pm Location: First Unitarian Church "The Chamber Music Society looks back to its first season with music inspired by historic heroines. Join us in celebrating a decade of presenting Baroque music with a concert of vocal and instrumental music, followed by a reception. Featured is soprano Jessica Petrus singing Monteclair's "The Death of Dido."
Winter Baroque: Concerti Barocchi Date: Monday January 12, 7:30pm Location: First Unitarian Church "Charming and exciting Baroque chamber music from Italy, and Italian-inspired pieces from the rest of Europe. Performed on period instruments."
Winter Baroque: The Well Tempered Clavier Date: Sunday February 22, 4pm Location: Church of the Holy Comforter "A rare opportunity to hear one of the most famous musical collections, played on a replica of Bach's own harpsichord."
Northern Lights: Romantics and Mystics Date: Sunday, May 17th, 4pm Location: First Unitarian Church "By popular demand, the Society returns to a theme of Russian and Scandinavian music with 'Northern Lights.' This concert features charming chamber music by Kuhlau, the "Danish Beethoven," and a famous string quartet by Borodin."
Northern Lights 2: Hot and Cold Date: Tuesday May 19th, 7:30pm Location: First Unitarian Church "Intimate chamber music from Scandinavia and the Baltic States for one to three players, including a collection of pieces about birds."
