Stereo Reform @ IPA
In April of 2012, Stereo Reform teamed up with Bravo Ocean and Triangle Sound Studios (owned by acclaimed producer Tricky Stewart) to record their newest album, The Future Started Yesterday, released in May of 2013. This high-energy album defines their signature sound, "Dance-a-Funk-a-Rock-a-Tronic," in ten songs that groove and rock from the first note to the last. A true synthesis of genres, Dance-a-Funk-a-Rock-a-Tronic takes the loosely definable "rock" sound and blends dance, funk, and pop into the mix, featuring insightful lyrics with mature themes, all gripped by a fistful of just plain fun. Anchored by songs such as The Future Started Yesterday, Fire, and 10 Miles Out Of NYC (which was featured in Relix in 2011), this album boasts ample drums that give way to crisp guitar riffs and electro-influenced backbeats, and offers a fresh, sexy, modern sound that is wholly unique, yet feels somehow familiar.
In the fall of 2013, Stereo Reform applied to Pandora Internet Radio, and was accepted in the record time of just a few short weeks. Stereo Reform is now proud to have their very own Pandora station, which features their music alongside that of such familiar and notable artists as Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Daft Punk, Capital Cities, and more. Stereo Reform recently released their newest music video for the track Fire from their album, The Future Started Yesterday. The video is featured on YouTube Nation, a joint venture between DreamWorks Animation and YouTube. The band also has the honor of being the feature band and having the theme song for the College All-Star Bowl and the South Carolina NFL Hall of Fame Induction in February of 2014. Stereo Reform is a fusion of the creative talents of Neil Turner on bass, keys, and lead vocals, and Will Evans on guitar, keys, and backup vocals.
Shows are filled with energy and feature a live drummer as Neil and Will bounce between their guitars and synths. Performing live as a trio also allows the band to showcase their love for drums. SR has become well know for busting out into a 3 man drum solo in the middle of a set. The live shows are something that shouldn't be missed.
