1ST ANNUAL KAYAKING FRIENDRAISER
Each year MTO provides information and support to the Chicago and suburban area rental community. MTO provides a critical service to the City of Chicago and over the past decade has assisted nearly 100,000 callers concerning their housing dilemmas. Our volunteers annually provide the work of five full time employees. These volunteers come from all walks of life: Phalanx Family Services who work with single mothers as they enter the workforce, National Caucus on Black Aging who work with Senior Citizens, students from our local universities such as DePaul, University of Illinois at Chicago, NorthEastern. Many volunteers begin as callers to the Hotline seeking help. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we rely unconditionally on our volunteers. Their efforts are vital to MTO's stability to serve the Chicago community. The purpose of this event is to raise funds to celebrate the invaluable work that they do.
Come join us at Clark Richard Playlot Park located 3400 N Rockwell St from 10 AM- 1 PM. If you wish to participate in a Kayaking Team of two in the Chicago River please raise a minimum of $120 per team (we have pledge sheets available). If you are not kayaking and wish to join us under the sun please provide a $20 donation per person and $5 for kids 10 and under.
