A red-hot retake on American history, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is an explosive mix of fact and re-invention. The show uses the story of America's controversial seventh president to amplify the temptations and terrors of American populism--all with a high-power blend of outrageous comedy, anarchic theatricality, and infectious emo-rock. The show follows the story of "Old Hickory" from his humble Tennessee beginnings through a scandalous romance to his life as America's first political maverick, where he wrestles power away from the elite. Along the way, it asks the question, is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him? And what if he's really, really hot?

As befits the tale of common-man-rising-to-the-Presidency, the show is performed with a live band in a pub setting. The score by Alex Timber and Michael Friedman, with hits like Populism Yea Yea and Rock Star make the show feel part-Broadway, part-rock concert.

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON features Chris Knudsen (Andrew Jackson) and Delena Obermaier (Rachel Jackson) with Ashlyn Kelley, Darcy Kummerow, James Mueller, Brianna Maki, Beth Pankau, Clark Pavlik, Nathan Rago, Morgan Taylor, David Tomblin, Anthony Varzino, and Ginny Watson. The show is directed by Helen Knudsen with musical direction by Bobby Dietz.
