The show's director, John Leslie, has assembled a cast of thirty talented performers to put together this rarely produced work by legendary American Musical Theater song-writer, Stephen Sondheim.
The show is a production of JEMS Theatre, originally West Boylston Community Theater, which has presented in previous years, "My Fair Lady," "The Sound of Music," and local composer Stephen Murray's children's musical "The Magic Snowman."
Performances are Thu. June 5, Fri. June 6, Fri. June 13, Sat. June 14, all at 7:30pm.
The stellar cast includes performers from many of Worcester County's Arts groups: Worcester County Light Opera, Calliope Productions, Worcester Opera Works, and groups from Hudson, Sturbridge and Clinton are represented as well. Principal roles will be played by Lydian DeVere, Todd Yard, Sally Holden, Ed Savage, Gary Swanson and Anthony Huntington.
This multi-generational cast of 30 includes performers from 7 years old to 85!
Stage and Music Direction is by John Leslie, assisted by Jessica Colorio.
Familiar songs from the score include the title song, "Anyone Can Whistle," as well as "Everybody Says Don't," "There Won't Be Trumpets" and "With So Little to Be Sure Of."
