NorthWest Noize presents, Sir Mix-A-Lot live for one night only! June 12th at Riley's Billiards located at 124 Broadalbin St SW, Albany, OR 97321. This is a 21+ event so please dress to impress! Doors are at 9 p.m. sharp. Tickets are $25 in advance and $40 at the door with $50 VIP available for a limited time.

If you know anything about Seattle rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot you know that he "likes big butts" because as he himself states he "cannot lie." The 1992 single "Baby Got Back," on which these declarations were made, is certainly Sir Mix-A-Lot's most well-known song; a Billboard pop number one, it also garnered the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.

Albany, Oregon may be small but that doesn't mean big things aren't happening there! Although hip-hop has coursed through these streets long before, March of 2008 witnessed the emergence of 541's native progeny and pacesetter, Poverty's Posterboy. Never content to blend in with a backdrop or settle for mediocrity, Poverty hit the ground running, blazing a trail through the Pacific Northwest with 37 shows in his first year alone and creating a vehicle of autonomy for his music through the formation of his own label, Northwest Noize with partner Jeremy Dunlap. Through ingenuity and collaboration with artists across the globe Pov has become a catalyst for progress in Albany and hip-hop communities throughout Oregon.
