Sarcassy Sneek's Southside Shenanigans
On the penultimate night of Southside Fringe 2014 hedonistic hostess with the most-est gin, Sarcassy takes over The Shed with her showcase of very special guests. The cream of the burlesque and cabaret crop on your doorstep!
Join delectable dictator Frank Sanazi, strongman Sir Leopold Aleksander, the mind meltingly gorgeous Aurora Winterborn, the sultry seductive Tom Harlow & Leggy Pee brings the diminutive Charlie. Come watch Meraki set the night alight. With sponsorship from the newly opened John Pickard, Electric Tattoos 159 Deanston Drive, Shawlands.
Frank Sanazi Having gone down a storm during last year's Southside Fringe, he's back by popular demand, the delectable dictator Frank Sanazi returns to the Shed with his Sinatra-esque songs from the fatherland, but with a twist. "One moment he's all twinkly and showbiz, the next he's giving Nazi salutes and barking insanely at his audience. He's also a crooner of some distinction with a polished selection of reworked Frankie numbers all given some kind of insane dictatorial twist. If it's Nazi themed puns you want Sanazi has them in abundance delivered with a twinkle and a glare and all in the worst possible taste." - Scotsman ****
Sir Leopold Aleksander The Mighty Moustache Olde charm, chivalry and romance follow this gent where ever he goes. Ladies gird your crinolines and lock up your hearts, men prepare to be in awe at the skill and strength in bending solid steel, lifting inhuman weights and covet the moustache of the mighty Sir Leopold. "For me, however, the highlight of the evening was still to come. The magnificently moustached Sir Leopold Aleksander: Victorian Strongman. True to form he wore white trousers, sported a cravat and had a formidable moustache. Proceeding to deliver 'lectures' on the true qualities a man should demonstrate (in essence, strength), which involved bending steel bars of increasing width. This spectacle really captured what one felt a real Victorian strongman would have been like and was highly engaging at the same time." -oninonline.com/a-very-victoriana-evening-review
Aurora Winterborn Hot footing it through from Edinburgh, Aurora brings beauty and grace to the stage. An imaginative and sleek performer it's always a pleasure to have her with us. Aurora's Candid Cabaret nights have gone from strength to strength attracting top quality national and international performers. Sarcassy is beside herself with chuffedness that Aurora's taking timeout of her busy schedule to party with us Not to be missed!
Tom Harlow Another Sarcassy favourite, Tom Harlow brings his unique twist of boylesque to the stage. Sultry, seductive and full of teasing mischief. A versatile performer with a voice, whether dancing, stripping or singing cabaret Tom never disappoints. '"... toned and rangy as a racehorse, striking poses and throwing shapes, all pelvic thrust and defiant eyes. Had Hen Broon hung out at Studio 54 he might have looked rather like Tom Harlow." - Scotland on Sunday
Leggy Pee The 'spoonertastic silent chanteuse' and her diminutive sidekick Charlie Montgomery Esquire make a couple worthy of vintage Hollywood accolades. They wouldn't be out of place in a room of Grace Kellys and Clark Gables, Humphrey Bogarts and Lauren Bacalls or would they? Come along and see for yourself.
Meraki With untameable energy Meraki puts all his soul into the worship of flame. Innovative and highly physical routines, sensual and strong, man and fire. He really will be setting the night alight.
