The "American Tribal Love-Rock Musical" tells the story of the "tribe", a group of politically active, long-haired hippie "flower children" of the "Age of Aquarius" living a bohemian life in New York City, and protesting the Vietnam war. Claude, his good friend Berger, their roommate Sheila and their friends struggle to balance their young lives, loves and the sexual revolution with their rebellion against the war and their conservative parents, and society. Claude must chose whether to resist the draft and stay true to his pacifistic principles, or succumb to the pressures of conservative America and risk his life in the Vietnam war. After the 1968 Broadway debut, a new genre was defined-"Rock Musical", with such favorites as "Aquarius", "Easy to be Hard", "Good Morning, Starshine", and of course "Hair", becoming widely popular, and hitting Billboard's "Hot 100".
