Both LIZETH and RICK have been headlining Live Looping Artists and both are producers of two of the largest International Live Looping Festivals:The Y2K International Live Looping Festival and the Mexico Y2K International Live Looping Festival.
Lizeth Ruvalcaba is a concertizing, professional Classical, Opera,Folkloric and Pop singer in the Jalisco State of Mexico (Mexico City, Guadalajara, etc.) Not only a professor of music and voice, she also has had a successful career in the live looping duo CIAN and gave one of the most compelling headlining SOLO performances at the annual Y2k Live Looping Main Festival in it's 20 year history. A multi-instrumentalist, she shares a love of found sound, invented instruments and experimentation and has flawless control of her very sophisticated live looping concert setup. She is not only an incredibly beautiful singer, she is also a powerful composer, producer and improviser as well.
Rick Walker has been on the forefront of progressive musics for 5 decades. One of the founding architects of the World Beat movement during the 80's and then, founding and coining the term Live Looping, has been live looping in public for 27 years. He is the founder of the largest and longest running International Live Looping Festivals in the world , now celebrating their 20th year with satellite festivals and festivals directly inspired by the main festival in 100 cities in 30 countries worldwide and has performed in 17 countries as a solo artist.He is a multi-instrumentalist and an innovator in the world of found and invented sound. He is also a master percussionist, drummer, professor of music, author and inventor of both music software and hardware.
LISTENING formed because of the mutual admiration and love Liz and Rick have for each other and, particularly, because both love Vocal Pop music and Singer Songwriter genres as much as they love experimentation, sonic manipulation and live looping techniques. Melody is a huge part of their burgeoning collaborative project.
