Patrick Ball presents The Fine Beauty of the Island
Renowned Harpist and storyteller Patrick Ball tells the tale of the "vanishing" of the last remaining inhabitants of the Blasket Islands in County Kerry, Ireland in 1953; leaving behind them a deeply haunting tune floating on the winds. The Fine beauty of the Island is the story of a journey in search of that strange, enchanting tune, a journey which led back to not only a Blasket Island community and culture " whose like will not be seen again" but to a long neglected corner of my own past.
