- Sun., Feb. 12, 3pm : Kit Eakle's Jaz'N'theViolin Quintet
Violinist Kit Eakle's Jaz'N'theViolin plays a concert of the best in jazz in homage to the violinists who have contributed so much to the art of jazz, past, present and future. Kit Eakle, violin; Tom Arntzen, piano; Daryl Jahnke, guitar; Graham Clark, bass; Craig Scott, drums.
- Sun., Mar. 19, 3 pm: Lache Cercel and his ROMA Jazz Ensemble
Lache Cercel is a Romanian born violin virtuoso who was steeped from an early age in the authentic music traditions of the Roma people. But he has deep sympathy with jazz, as the music of African Americans, a people similarly oppressed to the Roma in Europe and his music is deeply influenced by jazz, including many jazz standards in his repetoire.
- Sun., May 7, 3pm: Mads Tolling, violin with Triology
Grammy Award winning violinist Mads Tolling is one of the worlds foremost jazz violinists. Hailing from Denmark, Mads is a protegé of the great violinist Svend Asmussen. He has shared a stage with the likes of Jean-Luc Ponty, Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea and The Turtle Island String Quartet, and recently toured with Bob Weir & The Wolf Bros!
Mads will be joined by Vancouver's favourite improvising Trio, TRIOLOGY, featuring Miles Black, piano; Bill Coon, guitar and Jody Proznick, bass.
