Greg Ginn and the Taylor Texas Corrugators
Greg Ginn and the Taylor Texas Corrugators take a unique and playful style to their second CD, Goof Off Experts. Led by Gregs guitar, instrumentation also includes piano, organ, bass and drums by the same lineup as JAMBANG, but allows relaxed improvisation to give it a good time feel. A blend of country, jazz, and blues instrumental tracks with grooves so in the pocket that you know Greg and his players are serious musicians that like to play.
Ginn is in both bands and is set to release these records from the newly reinvigorated SST Records. Originally from Long Beach, CA, Ginn moved his offices to Taylor, Texas to keep close to the Austin music scene. His label, SST Records, has released over 700 albums to date. Although Ginns new direction may seem surprising, his motto has always been innovation and his favorite guitar player has always been Jerry Garcia. Ginn says, While punk rock has turned into quite something else, when I got into it in the 70s it was about always doing new things,
JAMBANGS debut release, Connecting, is full of distorted guitars saturated in a combination of electronica and rock ambiance. The live show features psychedelic projections that elevate the experience of watching a performance to a full sensory encounter with the band. Featuring Greg Ginn (guitar, electronics), Cliff Samuels (bass), Bobby Bancalari (mandolin), and Steve DeLollis (drums), each member brings their unique influences to the band to create one of the most diversified jam bands around. Their audio/visual artist, Joey Keeton, enhances the screaming guitar riffs and driving grooves to a visual level.
