WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
On February 14, The Foundation will host an evening of stories and song. This promises to be a quirky and fun-filled evening, with alluring tales about the comic, complicated, and confounded nature of romantic relationships.
The Valentine's Day event features Portland author Stevan Allred (A Simplified Map of the Real World; Forest Avenue Press 2013), Wayne Scott ("Love Scrabble") and new work from Steve Denniston, Michelle Fredette, Ela Howard, and singer-songwriter Malachi Graham. Singer/songwriter Malachi Graham has a voice that is equal parts Loretta Lynn and 1920s chanteuse. Expect to hear quirky love songs on topics ranging from Victorian spinsters to spurned mariners, great poets, and ill-fitting historical undergarments.
The Foundation is a "glamour era lingerie boutique" that carries girdles, garters, stockings, corsets, panties, and other lovely underthings that will make you look and feel gorgeous. With 12 ft ceilings, granny-apple green walls decorated with pin-up photos, and lots of natural light, this is a delightful place to perform.
