The De Soto Arts Council Arts Extravaganza - A weekend of the Arts, 11/4-5-6. Friday & Saturday brings the annual Arts Council Fine Arts Show; indoor shopping at the De Soto Linden-Tripkos VFW Post #6654, 33725 W 84th Street, De Soto. Hours are Friday, 11/4, 6:00pm-9:00pm and Saturday, 11/5, 9:00am-4:00pm. You'll have many choices of fine arts and fine crafts from area artists exhibiting various medias for your home, business, or as a gift.
And on Sunday, 11/6, at 7:00pm, at the De Soto, Lexington Trails Middle School, 8800 Penner Ave, thanks to TriCentury Bank and KTEN Properties, the De Soto Arts Council's finale to the Weekend of Arts, Arts Extravaganza, presents a new musical drama, The Sparkletones. This story centers around four dear friends in the late 1960s who find themselves stranded in a rural Kansas diner one winter evening. In this one night, their lives veer forever toward both the bitter and the sweet. This poignant show weaves musically through 20 years, and marks the passage of time through an energetic, beautiful, and memorable score.
