Bellingham's First Annual Lumber and Lace Ball to Benefit the Whatcom Hospice Foundation will be held at the Majestic on North Forest St. on February 22nd at 7pm.
Come join us for an evening of live music with The Country Hamm's, Hot Damn Scandal and DJ KitchenSink! There will be dancing and dance instruction by Chuck from Shall We Dance?, adult beverages, lite appetizer's, old-timey hair do's by TONI AND GUY ACADAMY students (from 6-8), old-fashioned portraits, a vintage trunk show by Terra Vintage and Bellingham Black Market Boutique, and a downright good ol' boot-stompin good time! Also featuring your salty MC, Marissa of the Good Time Girls!
The event aims to celebrate Bellingham and Whatcom County's history. This year's theme is Lumber and Lace to recognize the early 1900's loggers and their women who helped to establish our little gem in the northwest corner. Formal Attire is requested and bonus points for incorporating your grandma's vintage lace dress and your grandpa's woolies!
Doors open at 6pm to allow the Toni and Guy Academy students to begin the old-timey hair-do's until 8pm. The Ball starts at 7pm.
Tickets can be purchased in Bellingham at Kulshan Brewing Company, the Community Food Co-op and are on sale now at http://lumberandlaceball.brownpapertickets.com/
If you are interested in volunteering for the event please email us at lumberandlaceball@gmail.com.
The Lumber and Lace Ball is being organized by a group of active community member's who believe the assistance provided by Hospice is invaluable and poorly understood by Whatcom County's younger generation.
All revenues from the Ball will be donated to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation. Although the Lumber and Lace Ball is not an official Foundation event, the Foundation has been very supportive of our efforts. Whatcom Hospice provides our community with compassionate end-of-life medical care and support services to terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice never denies any patient services because of an inability to pay. Many people who have never had the need for Hospice services are unaware of the invaluable support they offer. And, what better way to celebrate life than to get all dressed up with your friends and dance the night away!?
The Lumber and Lace Ball is not officially sponsored by the Whatcom Hospice Foundation, and the Foundation assumes no responsibility or liability of any kind for any aspect of this event.
