World-hopping DJ Nickodemus returns to Portland - with his co-conspirator Zeb (aka the Spy from Cairo) on the decks and live oud - to celebrate a decade of Sacred Circle Ecstatic Dance.

DJ Nickodemus

From the early days of Giant Step, to today's Turntables on the Hudson parties, Nickodemus has been a key element in the NYC dance music scene for over 10 years. As a DJ & a producer, he explores the intersection of Urban & World Music with sounds of Funk, Folk, Jazz, Hip Hop, House & Dub - all with a message of peace, awareness & love for the dance.

Nickodemus been touring as a DJ & collaborating with musicians all over the world since 1996. He has three albums & remix albums called "Engangered Species" "Sun People" & "Moon People" as well as eight Turntables on the Hudson compilations to date.

Zeb (The Spy from Cairo)

The Spy from Cairo aka ZEB is the kind of musician that fits perfectly in downtown NYC music scene - Italian by birth, Gypsy by heritage and New Yorker by residence, he has been closely associated with the Turntables on the Hudson scene for close to 12 years. Under a mix of Monikers, he has produced dozen of albums as ZEB, The Spy from Cairo and the Organic Grooves project, remixing everyone from Baba Maal to Tosca, Billy Holliday to Novalima, quietly garnering a worldwide collective of fans and followers.

The Spy's new album "Arabadub" is perhaps his most realized vision of deep Middle Eastern and Jamaican sounds coalescing into something that sounds natural - it was conceived and produced with no samples. The Spy from Cairo aka Zeb has programmed everything, playing traditional Middle eastern stringed instruments namely the Oud, Chifteli, and the Saz himself.
