"LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE" HEALTH AND ARTS PROGRAM 10th ANNUAL DECEMBER GALA
L.A.S. Therapy Network and Development Group, Inc., Non-Profit Organization, "Laughter is the Best Medicine" Health and Arts Program, celebrates its 10th Annual December Gala at the Baptist World Convention Center, 1700 Baptist World Convention Center Drive, Nashville, TN 37207, on December 28, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Come dressed in formal attire, bring your family & friends, then enjoy our catered reception by Mortise Catering featuring the Cremona Strings Ensemble Too, dance to the rhythms of Jack and the Sol Katz Band, visit our visual artists exhibit, and more in specifically designed theaters, education halls, and/or vendors' areas for children and adults.
This event is free and open to the public in appropriate, formal dress. STRICT FORMAL WEAR DRESS CODE ENFORCED!!!
A recommended $10.00 tax exempt donation is accepted at brownpapertickets.com or the event to support the activities.
Our activities include, but are not limited to the following: Children's Theater: Master of Ceremony Juvenile Court Clerk David Smith; CSET NP string music; gift raffle; and more. Visual Arts Exhibit: Artists Michael McBride, Ross Jordan, Sandy Spain, Joseph D.Love,Jr., Jonathan Lewis, and others display their unique paintings, sketches, water colors, sculpting, and other creations while educating guests who appreciate their exhibits. Adults' Theater: Presenting Sharon Kay from Fisk University's 88.1 FM Jazz Radio Station and Actress, singer/song writer, and voice over artist J.Karen Thomas from the 'Nashville','Criminal Minds', and 'Drop Dead Divas' series, Actress, Singer/Songwriter & Voice Over Artist. J.Karen is a Nashville native and International Southern Belle. She's grateful to recur as Audrey Carlisle on ABC TV's hit series NASHVILLE. She's guest starred on 40+ TV shows including Criminal Minds and she recurs on Drop Dead Diva as Judge Bev Holder. She'll appear in the 2014 feature films: The Identical, starring Ashley Judd, Captive, starring David Oyelowo, and Boulevard, starring Robin Williams. J.Karen is the 2013 recipient of The Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress as Shug Avery in The Color Purple Musical. Locally she's sung w/ Keb'Mo, Jimmy Church, The Time Jumpers & many more. Ms. Thomas is thrilled to make her debut at the Historic Ryman Auditorium Thurs. Dec. 5th, 2013 as Guest Soloist with Nashville in Harmony in their Sugar Plums Holiday Concert; Comedians Jimmie Fitzgerald, Derek Dawson, Timothy Long, and John Bowman; other performing artists; and gift raffle with silent auction. Silent auction items from Henig Furs, Nashville Symphony, Tennessee Titans, and more.
