LA IGLESIA EN CUBA: LEGADO HISTÓRICO, CULTURAL Y ESPIRITUAL
A two-day conference delving into the overarching legacy of the Catholic Church in Cuba, from the 16th century to the present, with emphasis on its preponderant role in the educational sphere from colonial times to 1961, its initial trials and tribulations and diminished role under the Communist government, its controversial policy of accommodation and survival, and its subsequent resurgence after Pope John Paul IIs visit to Cuba in 1998.
The special admission code will also provide exclusive access to a spectacular Cuban Musica Sacra Concert on December 18.
