Ambassadors of Sustainability
Sustainable Tucson invites you to join the second round of Ambassadors training this summer and fall. Participants meet every Saturday morning, with about an hour of reading each week.
Whether you live in the desert Southwest or the Pacific Northwest, the underlying principles of sustainability apply. Each session is dedicated to a specific topic -- such as climate resilience, green infrastructure, and sustainable housing -- with subject matter experts from business, nonprofits, government, and the academy.
Recognizing the centrality of communication in building community and transforming culture, we will spend time on core skills such as empathy, inquiry, and advocacy, including a session on collaborative problem-solving with Bonnie Colby, PhD, professor of agricultural resource economics and teacher of meditation.
Other presenters include representatives of Local First Arizona, Sierra Club, Tucson Electric Power, University of Arizona, Tucson General & Environmental Services, Watershed Management Group, Pima County Sustainability Program, and Development Center for Appropriate Technology.
Dates: August 14 through November 13 Time: 9:30 am to Noon (MST / PDT) Venue: Zoom
