CityDance Conservatory Concert YAGP Showing
As part of the Annual Conservatory Concert Series, CityDance Conservatory presents its 2020-2021 Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Showing in a livestream in-studio concert from Strathmore Music Centers' CityDance Studio Theatre!
This season 11 Conservatory Dancers traveled to four YAGP Regional competitions in Boston, Philadelphia and New York. The upcoming May performances/showings highlight their achievements during this difficult COVID dance season. YAGP is the world's largest student dance competition and scholarship program, and the YAGP Team was able to return dancers to the stage safely.
All of the Conservatory Dancers performed with integrity, grace and elegance at YAGP. Most of these dancers train full time in the Professional Training Day Program and have excellent classical ballet and contemporary skills.
CityDance Conservatory Dancers have been awarded the highest honors at the competitions including a Hope Award and two Youth Grand Prix Awards. These awards are given to the dancers who, by the consensus of the jury panel, have exceeded all other dancers in classical and contemporary in their age division. Conservatory Dancers also won top awards at YAGP Regionals, including top twelve, third place contemporary, second place classical and two first place awards in classical and contemporary, Many of these dancers have been invited to attend the YAGP Finals that will be held in Tampa, Florida May 9-16, 2021.
The CityDance Conservatory also received the Outstanding School Award at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Boston Regional Semi-finals.
We invite you to join us in celebrating our young talents who will perform classical variations staged by Ballet Master Stanislav Issaev and contemporary solos choreographed by CityDance School & Conservatory Founding Artistic Director Lorraine Spiegler, Choreographer-in-Residence, Robert J. Priore and other talented CityDance teaching artists including guest artist, Lenaya Willams.
We recognize the impact that this pandemic has had on everyone our students, families, staff and faculty. As a thank you for the support you have shown over the past year and your commitment to our School & Conservatory, all of our annual performances are free of charge. We encourage you to consider making a donation to the CityDance Conservatory Scholarship Fund. Your support allows talented students to receive the financial support they deserve as we look forward to the future!
