About Kinnor Philharmonic
The tradition of Jewish orchestras in America is one that has been enjoyed for many years in Boston, Los Angeles, and Portland, Oregon, but has never been established in the vast spaces in between. The Kansas City area, with its strong Jewish community, its rich diversity of music and strong support for the arts, is an ideal location for this venture.
Kinnor Philharmonic, named after the lyre mentioned in Psalm 150, is a Jewish-based and themed semi-professional orchestra. Its primary mission is to provide visibility, a sense of pride, and cultural and artistic unification to the Kansas City Jewish community.
