A Gaelic Christmas
Mary Mc Laughlin's "Cor Aingli" (Angelic Choir) presents their third Gaelic Christmas concert in Santa Cruz California.
"Cor Aingli" is a 25 strong SATB choir who, with the exception of 5 Irish speakers, have learned the material through a phonetic/aural approach. The material has been researched and arranged for the choir by director Mary Mc Laughlin who is also the principal soloist.
This year the "Cor Aingli" will be accompanied by Steve Coulter on the harp and Theo Paige on bodhran and fiddle.
Libby Mc Laren's "Winterberry Carollers" from Oakland will present a guest performance and both choirs will join together for several songs in Irish Gaelic - making a total of 42 voices singing in Gaelic. Given the fabulous acoustic in Holy Cross Church this will (literally) be a resounding event!
