With a career spanning 30 years, 32 albums, and over a half a million record sales and thousands of live performances, he has been compared to Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Bruce Cockburn and Dave Matthews. But standing in his own right, Martyn has created his own style and built a reputation as an enthralling live performer, giving what thousands have described as the best live music experience of their lives. Driven by passion, social awareness and love for his trade, hes a jaw dropping guitar player who has developed a unique percussive style, and a powerful show stopping voice, earning for himself the moniker of The Welsh Springsteen. The Standing on the Side of Love Coffee House is an occasional musical presentation offered in affiliation with the Unitarian Universal Fellowship of the Carolina Foothills, intending to bring to our community performers who embody excellent musicianship combined with a message that is socially aware and inspiring.
