HISTORY and the Museum of Tolerance invite you and a guest to an advance screening of
AUSCHWITZ UNTOLD
Thursday, January 23, 2020 7:00 p.m. at the Museum of Tolerance
HISTORY is commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz with a new two-hour documentary, Auschwitz Untold. The documentary depicts the chilling story of the Nazi persecution and extermination of European Jews by combining newly colorized footage from the Holocaust and rare, first person interviews with survivors. Seventy-five years after the liberation, survivors, who were children at the time of the Holocaust, reflect on the tragic circumstances that lead to their internment and reveal the ways in which they survived the brutal Nazi campaign. Auschwitz Untold features moving and revealing testimony of more than 15 Holocaust survivors including the seldom heard voice of a Romani survivor and a member of the Jewish underground who participated in armed resistance against the Nazis. Viewers will witness colorization of black and white archive footage and a contemporary resonance to the unprecedented horrors of the not so distant past. Ultimately, a story of incredible courage, faith, and resilience emerges from the darkness of this horrific chapter in history. Q&A following the screening with:
Sheldon Lazarus, Development Producer for Auschwitz Untold, Bill Harvey, an Auschwitz Survivor whose story is depicted in the special. and, live from Auschwitz, Michael Berenbaum, Ph.D., Preeminent Holocaust Scholar and Director of the Sigi Ziering Institute at American Jewish University, moderated by Liebe Geft, Director, Museum of Tolerance.
A reception will follow.
Premieres Sunday, January 26 at 9pm ET on HISTORY. Auschwitz Untold is produced for HISTORY by Fulwell73.
This special screening is offered at no charge. Advance RSVP required. Register below:
