Humboldt Yiddish Music Festival

Festival will feature musicians: : Lorin Sklamberg (lead singer and co-foounder of the Grammy winning Klezmatics) on accordion & vocals, Sasha Lurje (Latvia) on vocals & dance and Craig Judelman . It will also feature Jewish music specialist Eleanor Shapiro, PhD.

Sat 1-2:30 PM Workshop: Klezmer Revival 1975 to present: multimedia presentation by Eleanor Shapiro, PhD, Jewish Music Specialist

Sat 3-6 PM Workshop: Klezmer for instrumentalists: an overview ( held at private home/studio-call Temple Beth El for location)

Sat 7:30 PM Workshop: Participatory Yiddish Dance Instruction and Dance Party, with live music.

Sun ll -12:30 AM Workshop: Participatory workshop on history and evolution of Yiddish song from shtetl to cabaret to musical theatre

Sun 2 PM Concert: Love Death and Revolution: Yiddish Songs, Dance Music and Stories
by the Klezmatics frontman and two of Europe;s leading Klezmer performers.
