Sister Strings: Roots, Voice & Drums is a project designed to provide an education history of the life of string instruments, voice and percussion in the black community, from slavery until present.  

The Players are cellist Akua Dixion, bassist Marion Hayden,pianist Pamela Wise Harrison, singer Naima Shamborguer,violinist Michelle Ann May, violist Leslie DeShazor, violinist and vocalist Tia Imani Hanna,drummer Gayelynn McKinney, and master percussionist Mahindi Masai.
