POSTPONED ~ SHAKEN NOT STIRRED 007 JAMES BOND Music Tribute
Susie Pepper & Mixology will present a one-of-a-kind concert, SHAKEN NOT STIRRED 007 BOND TRIBUTE, with songs from many of your favorite James Bond films and recording artists across the globe! Created just for Deertrees Theatre's 84th Season Susie & Mixology will rock the house and rattle the pines with musical numbers from 007 films from the past 50 years+...you DO NOT want to miss this special concert!

Rolling Stone Magazine: "James Bond movie theme songs are the cinematic equivalents of paperback book-series covers  they suggest familiarity and course with the promise of a compelling new adventure for Western cultures most unkillable pop icon.

Bonds first big screen adventure, 1962s, Dr. No had no precedent to follow, and therefore no need for the bombastic title treatments that would come to define the franchise (it opted for a gentle calypso medley). By the time the franchises third film was released two years later, we already had Shirley Bassey roaring Goldfinger over the credits, and audiences knew just what kind of fun 007 had in store for them.

Each Bond gets the themes he deserves, from the smooth and impenetrable tunes of the Connery era to the radio-ready offerings from the Daniel Craig years, as muscular and wounded as his iteration of the legendary spy. You dont need to have seen Spectre to know that the song Sam Smith wrote for it taps into the unique pathos of the rebranded contemporary version of the character; when it comes to Bond themes, the writing has always been on the wall."

With the next 007 film NO WAY TO DIE looming ominously on the horizon, Susie Pepper & Mixology will look back at more than 50 years of Bond themes, performing music by a diverse range of performers like:

The Man with the Golden Gun (Lulu)
Another Way to Die (From Quantum of Solace) (Jack White and Alicia Keys)
All Time High (From Octopussy) (Rita Coolidge)
Die Another Day (Madonna)
Tomorrow Never Dies (Sheryl Crow)
Goldeneye (Tina Turner)
License to Kill (Gladys Knight)
A View to Kill (Duran Duran)
Moonraker (Shirley Bassey)
For Your Eyes Only (Sheena Easton)
Thunderball (Tom Jones)
Nobody Does it Better (From The Spy Who Loved Me) (Carly Simon)
Diamonds Are Forever (Shirley Bassey)
Skyfall (Adele)
You Only Live Twice (Nancy Sinatra)
Live and Let Die (Paul McCartney and Wings)
Goldfinger (Shirley Bassey

ABOUT DEERTREES THEATRE

In 1936 a stunning opera house was built on the site of an old deer run in the forest above the friendly village of Harrison, Maine, Deertrees Theatre. This summer is our 84th season.

The theatre was the vision of opera singer Enrica Clay-Dillon. It was designed by Harrison G. Wiseman, a famous theatre architect of the day who was instructed to create the most acoustically and technically perfect theatre possible.

Constructed of rose hemlock, in the Adirondack Style, with hand-carved fixtures and near perfect acoustics, the 300 seat theatre was considered as fine as any on Broadway!

Now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, Deertrees is operated as a non-profit organization and presents a diverse schedule of performances and events, both musical and theatrical, every summer.
