songsmith episode 7: featuring Liz Kelly and the Better Half - season finale + afterparty!
songsmith is a bi-monthly series that features the Hudson Valley's best original songwriters performing and talking about their craft. Each episode is recorded before a live audience in Beacon, New York and simultaneously streamed on the web.
We are very excited to announce Liz Kelly and the Better Half as our featured guest for our season finale on November 8, 2019!
Liz is a songwriter and mulit-instrumentalist who grew up on a fruit and vegetable farm in Massachusetts. At 11 years old she started playing the drums and by the time she was 18 already knew how to play the guitar, bass, and piano. When Liz was nineteen she went on her first nationwide tour as a drummer and backup vocalist with Bitch from Righteousbabe/Kill Rock Stars records. She has opened for acts such as Gavin Degraw, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls, Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors, and performed with musicians such as Melissa Ferrick, Jill Sobule, Travis Morrison of The Dismemberment Plan, Chris Pureka, Joan as Police Woman, and many others.
This is a private event. Doors will open at 6:15pm and the show will start PROMPTLY at 7:30pm for our simulcast on Facebook Live. The show will last approximately one hour. Light refreshments will be available. Ages 12+ only please.
Seating is FREE, but limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis. This show will fill quickly. Please RSVP as soon as possible to guarantee your seat!
