"Personal inspiration, emotional renewal, and physical rejuvenation."
ATWOOD MAGAZINE, 2019 ARTISTS TO WATCH

"The New York State-based sextet brings luscious three-part harmonies to an appetizing party mix of genres and sounds that include folk, rock, swing, jazz, R&B, and a whole lotta gospel soul."
POPMATTERS, 2019

"Produced by Wood Brothers percussionist Jano Rix, (he) helped the group embrace their transformation without sacrificing any of the gorgeous three-part harmonies, eclectic arrangements, and unforgettable performances that have defined the band since their earliest days.
PARADE MAGAZINE

"Along with folk and field hollers, Upstate's infectiously sunny organic stew stirs together strands of bluegrass, jazz, blues, Broadway, gospel, soul, and pop."
CHRONOGRAM

With a warm soul-tinged folk core, strong pop sensibilities, and a taste for gorgeous harmony, Upstate are all too easy to fall in love with. Blending folk, R&B, gospel, rock, and jazz influences into an alluring but often hard-to-categorize sonic identity, the band has garnered respectable comparisons to early Lake Street Dive and Phox  acts who, like Upstate, broke genre molds without missing a beat (literally).

ABOUT UPSTATE / www.upstatelovesyou.com

For Upstate, the last few years have been a time of profound exploration and self-discovery. As the band knocked off milestone after milestone on the road, their sound, their lineup, and even their name all underwent dramatic metamorphoses. Challenging and thrilling all at once, those changes have finally culminated in the bands dazzling new self-titled album, a collection that showcases both their remarkable growth and their adventurous blend of folk, R&B, jazz, gospel, and rock and roll.

Upstate first emerged from New Yorks Hudson Valley in 2015 with their critically acclaimed debut, A Remedy. The Poughkeepsie Journal raved that the group need[s] nothing more than their voices to channel rhythm and stoke your emotions, while Chronogram hailed their infectiously sunny organic stew, and The Alt called them toe-tapping, contagious, and fun. The album earned the band festival performances from Mountain Jam to FreshGrass, as well as a slew of national headline dates and support slots with everyone from The Felice Brothers and Phox to Marco Benevento and Cory Henry.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA HOUSE SHOWS / www.chattanoogahouseshows.com

Chattanooga House Shows started with a secret, invite-only show at a treehouse in September 2016. A month later, we hosted an impromptu back-porch concert. We love how music brings people together, creating magical experiences for artists and the audience, and wanted to do more. Since then we've hosted just under 30 shows in a mix of homes and businesses with top emerging indie artists.

Some past artists include: The Ballroom Thieves, Kishi Bashi, Andrew Duhon, The Accidentals, KOLARS, The Harmaleighs, and Josiah Johnson (of The Head & the Heart).

Most of our shows are still invite-only and location only sent the night before to those who RSVP. As our artists and roster grow, we are now partnering with local venues to host them for standard public shows like Barking Legs.

This is the largest collaboration for us yet and Barking Legs is the perfect spot!
