MJFF - Chewdasim, A Taste of Jewish Montreal Sun Nov 3 at 4:00 PM + reception at JCA
The first Maine Yiddish Culture Festival concludes on Sunday Nov 3 with the screening of the documentary, Chewdaism: A Taste of Jewish Montreal, followed by a catered reception at the JCA in Portland. The short documentary A Day in Warsaw featuring footage of Jewish Warsaw before WWII will also be shown.
A Day In Warsaw - the program opens with the short film, filmed in Warsaw in 1938 and 1939 and newly restored by the National Center for Jewish Film. In Yiddish with English subtitles.
In Chewdaism, Eli Batalion and Jamie Elman, the hilarious comedic duo behind the viral Yiddish-language web series YidLife Crisis return to their city of birth, Montreal, on a mission to eat their way through the city in 24 hours.
Following the film screening there will be a reception catered by Rose Foods and Tin Pan Bakery Ticket Includes the film and reception
