Christmas Joy will fill the air as the Island Chamber Singers perform their Christmas Concert on Friday, December 6, and Sunday, December 8, at the Amelia Plantation Chapel.
An orchestra will accompany the Chamber Singers, and the concert will feature a performance by The First Coast Singers, a youth chorale sponsored by Arts Alive Nassau.
A wide range of songs, from classical pieces like Pergolesis Glory to God in the Highest and Powells Christus Natus Est to traditional favorites like Deck the Hall, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and The Holly and the Ivy. The concert will conclude with the Chamber Singers favorite, I Wish You Christmas by contemporary composer John Rutter.
Dr. Jane Lindberg, founder of the Island Chamber Singers, will direct the Chamber Singers and the orchestra, and Jonathan Welch will conduct The First Coast Singers.
Concerts will take place at the Amelia Plantation Chapel, 36 Bowman Road, Amelia Island, on Friday, December 6, at 7 pm, and Sunday, December 8, at 3 pm. There will be an opening night reception in the Fellowship Hall immediately following Friday evening's performance.
