String Fling
Often relegated to a supporting role, the viola is featured front and center (along with piano), thanks to members of the Composers Collective at their String Fling premiere of 9 new works. Composers Ruth Ansell, Rosemary Derocher, Kit Goldstein Grant, Eric Heilner, Alicia Lieu, Robert OConnor, Neil Radisch, Hany Rizkalla, and George Tsouris have written never-before-heard pieces for viola and piano to celebrate the long-awaited arrival of summer. Featuring violist Chelsea Wimmer and pianist Emely Phelps, this concert will launch you into a joyful season of long lingering daylight and sultry nights. Come join us and revel in the experience!
