Murder in Messina: An Early Music Murder Mystery
We don't want to give away too many juicy details, but this special murder mystery concert will explore the music of 17th century violinist-turned-murderer Giovanni Antonio Pandolfi. Bring your finest detective skills. All we can tell you is...it wasn't Colonel Mustard in the ballroom with the candlestick!
Early Music Access Project Artistic Director and violinist David McCormick is joined by fellow violinist Dan McCarthy, countertenor Thomas Aláan, bass violinist Jeremy Ward, and archlute player Brian Kay. Matthew Davies of Mary Baldwin University will lead a small cast of actors bringing this murder mystery to life. A wide array of rarely-heard works by Maurizio Cazzati, Antonio Cesti, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, Marco Uccellini, and Pandolfi himself will illuminate the murderous tale.
TICKETS: $18 in advance (online) and $20 at the door, $5 student tickets
