Melisa Kelly & The Smoking Crows, Used Blues + Andrew Robert Eustace
Jock's Juke Joint presents Melisa Kelly and the Smoking Crows, The Simon Kennedy Band and Andrew Robert Eustace. Melisa Kelly and the Smokin' Crows have built a reputation as a powerful, soulful live act. Supporting artists Samantha Fish and Big Boy Bloater, the band achieved critical acclaim for their first EP 'Some Kind of Voodoo', appearing on The Blues Magazine Radio show and STV2. Playing with the likes of Alabama 3 and Jools Holland's R'n'B Orchestra, and now following the release of their album 'Devil's Luck', mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road Studios, the band are set to further cement their reputation as one of the best new soul acts to come out of Scotland in 2018.
Used Blues Simon Kennedy Band have had to withdraw for personal reasons so Used Blues will be taking their place. From the 1940's tunes of Louis Jordan to the contemporary songs of Gary Clark Jr via Tom Waits, Buddy Guy et al, this band delivers.
A guitar and organ driven blues trio, the band was formed in 2014 by Dundee born guitarist Simon Kennedy with Mirek Hodun on keys and Richard Kennedy on drums.
Andrew Robert Eustace (solo) There's a county blues, Mississippi Delta and bluegrass air about the song writing style of big voiced Scottish Blues singer and guitarist Andrew Robert Eustace. He's also a musician who can command quite a presence in both full electric band and solo acoustic format. This appearance will be the latter as Andrew will performing songs including material from his second album Different Sides.
