Independents' Film Festival Emerging Directors
Animal Instincts co-directed by Cameron Edser and Michael Richards (Australia) Animal Instincts is an action packed claymation of epic proportions. A cow and a sheep battle it out in a fight for ultimate barnyard supremacy. Edser won a Wee WOW award in the 2006 JIFF for his claymation The Bushman of Bunyib Billabong.
Shy directed by April Rouveyrol (California) First time writer/director, Rouveyrol creates a film about a 12 year-old eccentric, agoraphobic, African-American boy who lives in Los Angeles with his Grandmother and is forced to go outside into the hood, when his Grandmother dies.
No One Doubts the Camera Eye co-directed by Tim Compton and Sean Malone (Florida) University of Tampa grad, Tim Compton creates a murder mystery in which two paparazzi pursue a mysterious figure caught on film near the scene of a murder.
Focus co-directed by Jesse Newman and Sarah Wilson (Florida) USF students Newman and Wilson won Best Picture in the Florida Campus Movie Fest with this film. The film is about a student who centers his attention on a brick wall in order to reflect on and make sense of the events that have shaped who he has become.
W & the Freedom Fighters co-directed by Caleb Rugg and Carlos Rivera (Florida) Plant High School grad, Rugg created this film as his final project for FSU film school. When a zombie horde threatens the world with annihilation, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, a robot named Megabyte, and Chirpit, the paraplegic kid wonder, must all work together to send them back to hell. Fatal Love directed by Lamar Edwards (Florida) First-time director and UT student Edwards, creates a love story with a twist.
Blow'd Away directed by Rodrick Colbert (Florida) This film was created by the University of South Florida Film and Video Association for entry into the 48 Hour Film Project. This espionage thriller exposes super-spy, Bryn Byers (Ann Poonkasem) on what could be her last mission, encountering her worst nemesis yet.
