Church of Beethoven, Oak Park - Marcus Dunleavy, guitar and Julie Koidin, flute
The Church of Beethoven in Oak Park is happy to bring back a crowd favorite - guitarist Marcus Dunleavy.
Duo Novo Nuevo is Julie Koidin, flute and Marcus Dunleavy, guitar. Both Julie and Marcus have a broad background in performing Latin American music. They first played together in a production of Astor Piazzolla's "Maria de Buenos Aires" - a "tango operetta" at the Chicago Cultural Center. Their upcoming Church of Beethoven appearance will feature a wide range of music from Brazil and Argentina with composers and styles ranging from Celso Machado's choros and choro-sambas to Mauricio Pinchi Cardozo Ocampo's arrangements of AgustÃn Barrios' solo guitar works, originally performed by Paquito D'Rivera and Berta Rojas, now arranged for Julie and Marcus for this performance
