Songwriters on Stage: Season Finale
Tues May 7 | 7pm
General Admission | $10
Each month, the Maine Songwriters Association presents Songwriters on Stage, a showcase of some of the best songwriters Maine has to offer. The show typically features three seasoned performers and an emerging songwriter to kick the evening off. Its an opportunity for listeners to discover new music or come hear local favorites in one of the best listening rooms in Maine. This season finale concert will feature four seasoned performers: Jeanette Villanueva, Tim Winchester, Becca Biggs, Mehuman, and Emerging Artist, Eden Marie Wood.
Jeanette Villanueva is an up and coming artist born and raised in Maine small town. Jeanettes love of music became her passion and she has traveled all over from New York to Nashville. With her Pop/Folk sound Jeanette will make you feel it all!
Tim Winchester is a Maine songsmith and indie-folk artist. A self-proclaimed "simple songwriter", Tim's music combines warm vocals, melody-rich arrangements and stories rooted in love and heartache. Over the years, Tim experimented with a variety of genres but was ultimately drawn to the rawness and intimacy of live acoustic performances, especially in listening room type settings.
Becca Biggs is a singer songwriter who gives raw emotion and shares life experience. Her music ranges from painful honesty to dark and playful storytelling. Along with singing, she plays electric banjo. Her music is a little raw, a little gritty and full of heart.
Mehuman ["May-mon"] cut her teeth on gospel spirituals, straight ahead jazz, country blues, soulful folk and rock & roll. A former Arista Records recording artist, Mehuman toured North America, Continental Europe, the U.K. and West Africa as an award winning singer/songwriter. Based in Maine she enjoys sharing music internationally and locally as an independent artist, choreographer, play-writer and community builder.
Eden Marie Wood, at 15 years of age, grew up listening to her accomplished musical parents perform. With a love for singing and speaking her mind through music, Eden's artistic goal is not only speaking words people are afraid to, but also addressing the reality of the world in which we live. Eden Marie is gifted and empowered beyond her years as a singer and songwriter.
