Northglenn Water Lantern Festival
The water lantern movement that is growing in popularity comes from the tradition of making krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which are then floated on a river in Thailand. The festival is known as "Loi Krathong". Loi Krathong takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. The exact date of the festival changes every year. In the Western calendar this usually coincides with a full moon. This event is for people of all ages, diverse backgrounds and beliefs to come together with family, friends, and loved ones and experience presence and gratitude.
