STEVEN RAICHLEN
Author, journalist, lecturer and TV host Steven Raichlen, the man who reinvented modern barbecue, comes to the Sapphire Palace at Blue Lake Casino on Thursday, May 30.  Steven will demonstrate preparation of the evening's featured dish and will sign copies of his newest book "The Brisket Chronicles," which is included with every ticket. Music for the evening by the Compost Mountain Boys. Steven Raichlen's appearance is made possible in part by McKinleyville Ace Hardware.

Steven Raichlen hosts the popular TV shows Steven Raichlens Project Fire and Project Smoke, both of which air on KEET-TV's Create channel.

His latest book is Project Fire (Workman Publishing). His 31 books include the international blockbusters The Barbecue Bible and How To Grill, and the New York Times bestselling Planet Barbecue, Project Smoke, and his new Project Fire (Workman Publishing). His books have won 5 James Beard Awards and 3 IACP-Julia Child Awards and been translated into 17 languages.

An award-winning journalist, Raichlen has written for The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Esquire, GQ, and all the major food magazines. In 2015, he was inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame.
