Trifecta 264 Keys of Piano Power Jazz at the Spring
What is a jazz piano trio? Piano bass and drums, right? Well think again. . .how about three pianos?
When Capital Region pianists Rob Lindquist and Dave Gleason, who have known each other from their student days at the Crane School of Music, met Wayne Hawkins a recent transplant from Kansas City, they realized they were kindred musical spirits, and Trifecta was the result. These three seasoned piano players take the stage simultaneously to navigate the complexities of the piano as they delve into the Jazz repertoire.
Imagine the richness and complexity of an orchestra channeled through six hands working 264 keys and three keyboards. It will be all on display: cooperation, exuberance, restraint and excitement, as these accomplished pianists harness the power of their instruments to create a soundscape that not only reveals the complex emotional range of the piano, but also its delicate beauty.
Their repertoire celebrates the works of the great jazz pianists, and Trifectas original compositions reflect their personal connection to this great legacy. This is a master class in the art of improvisation!
