This seminar is structured to acquaint the design team with basic building code requirements that drive the use of fire and smoke rated wide span opening protectives. Focus is on photographs and case studies of actual projects. See the direct correlation between life safety, product application and open design. See the fundamental code requirements that drive the placement of fire walls and fire barriers, their openings, and their opening protectives.
Dan Quatier graduated from WSU with degrees in Construction Management and Architecture. He then worked for Hoffman Construction as a project engineer. Later, with Baugh Construction/Skanska, Dan served as Oregon Division President; then Skanskas Western Region Chief Operating Officer. During this time, he also headed up Skanskas national Injury Free Workplace initiative and the national Skanska University training program. Dan is an active member of AIA, CSI, SFPE, and has served on the Washington State University Architecture and Construction Management Advisory Board. Co-owner of Interior Technology, Dan is currently pursuing a Masters in Fire Protection Engineering at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo.
