Dalhousie Collegium Cantorum Presents Mystical Musings Choral Music By Michael McGlynn _______________________________________________________________________________________ Dalhousie Collegium Cantorum presents: Mystical Musings Choral Music By Michael McGlynn Tuesday, November 27, 7:30 p.m. St. Andrews Church, corner of Coburg & Robie, Halifax Tickets: $25 regular /$20 for students and seniors available at Dalhousies Fountain School of Performing Arts, from choristers, online at brownpapertickets.com, or at the door. Michael McGlynn is the founder and director of the Irish group Anúna. His choral arrangements have a distinctive, mystically haunting sound. In the first half of this concert, Dalhousie Collegium Cantorum will present two of his works, Miserere Miseris, and Greensleeves/Scarborough Fair, accompanied by harpist Alys Howe. The choir will be joined by tenor Ryan Henwood, who will also perform Gabriel Faurés Tantum Ergo. In the second half of the concert, the choir will perform Mass No. 2 in G major by Franz Schubert, accompanied by local organist Shawn Whynot, with soloists Janna Sherlock (soprano), Christopher Grundke (tenor) ,Douglas Jones (tenor), and Luke Morrison (baritone). The concert will also feature short works by Stravinsky (Ave Maria), Rutter (What Sweeter Music) and Maurice Duruflé (Ubi caritas). Collegium Cantorum is delighted to welcome The Halifax Girls Honour Choir under the direction of Charlotte Myers as special guests for this concert. Dalhousie Collegium Cantorum is a 90-voice community choir, directed by Gary Ewer, and accompanied by Tara Scott.
