A series of short films on race, justice, & equity.
1) America Needs a Racial Facial Director Jeff Adachi 8:13 American Needs a Racial Facial is a short 8 minute film about racism in America. It provides a blur of images and video historical and contemporary depicting both the division and blending that has characterized the history and treatment of people of color in this country. Beginning with this countrys history of slavery and discrimination against African Americans, eradication and colonization of Native Americans, exclusion of Asian Americans and exploitation of Mexican and Latin Americans, Racial Facial depicts a visual panorama which encompasses the history of oppression and discrimination that has led to continuation of tension, unrest and anger amongst all Americans.
2) Rolling in the Deep Director Marcellus Cox 12:20 A Young African American Male travels home to South Carolina looking to achieve a goal for his late Father by having a meal at an locally famous Whites Only Diner.

4) Across the Tracks Director Kimberly James 15:50 Two African American sisters grow up in racially charged 1960s Georgia. But one is born with fair skin and when schools integrate in their small town, she decides to change her destiny - by passing for white.
5) Like Fine Silk Directors Sandra Manzanares & Ben Mankoff 7:37 Eva, a young Afro-Latina, takes her Spanish-speaking black mother shopping at the neighborhood black beauty supply store. The Korean proprietor becomes a little too interested in the older womans cultural and racial background, which leads to a humorous, tense conversation. Eva becomes the cultural interpreter and ambassador for a host of characters in the store who both play up stereotypes and suffer from them.
6) My Black is Beautiful - Director Lovely Hoffman 3:27 The video follows a young girl who struggles with low self-esteem. This young girl is ultimately empowered and uplifted by her peers and encouraged to love herself and embrace her blackness.
