A Transatlantic Advent: Music of Byrd & Billings
The Renaissance Project juxtaposes the ethereal music of British Renaissance composer William Byrd with the raucous shape-note music of early American choral composer William Billings. While the two Williams could not be more different, like many composers, they each wrote music surrounding Advent, that period of time before Christmas. Join Boulder's a cappella choir for a concert celebrating Advent, separated by the Atlantic Ocean and 200 years of musical tradition.
