Invasion in the Square: Part IV
Invasion in the Square is back for Part IV!!!!

Our monthly music showcase continues, featuring three fantastic up and coming local bands.  As always, this event is organized, hosted and headlined by the Hub Dub.  Come and hang out in our party atmosphere...dancing and good vibes all around!!!

This month's lineup is: Jugghead, Charlie the Most, and Hub Dub

Jugghead:  Roots/Soul

Patrick Hanlin (Kid:Nap:Kin, Vending Machetes, Josh & the Jamtones) and Andrew DelCid (Say When, Delhill) got together in 2008 while recording a concept album written by Auteur Timothy Underberry, "Ketty's Kitchen." After playing a year of shows together under the 'Berry flag, they decided to start playing pickup shows with songs written by both Hanlin and DelCid.  We play in the spirit of a front-porch family band, man. Come join in.

Charlie the Most:  Funk/Southern Soul

Charlie the Most was formed in the winter of 2011 by guitarist, songwriter, and arranger Charlie McCanless after being invited to play at the Berklee Performance Center. The group, featuring brothers Jared Howell (organ and piano) and Donovan Edelstein (drums), Nolan Watt (bass) and Jason Lim (guitar) clicked instantly and the warm reception of their debut made them realize this should not just be a one-off performance. Soon after, the group added a horn section featuring Jacob Veloo (Alto Sax), Thad Nolan (Bari Sax), Tom Molina (trumpet) and Daniel Luevano (trombone) as well as vocalists Jónas Björnsson and Diana Inez Cybulska. This greatly expanded Charlie The Most's musical palette as they began writing new material that explored the crossroads between blues, funk, and southern soul. Since forming, Charlie The Most has played in every venue of note in the greater Boston area. The band is in the process of booking shows for the summer throughout the Northeast and plans on making trips to the home cities of all members! Look for Charlie the Most to come your way soon!

Hub Dub:  Live Reggae/DubParty

Hub Dub is an assemblage of experienced, talented Boston area musicians playing a blend of original improvised music, and classic Dub. With a dynamic and flexible lineup of all-star musicians, coupled with "Oh my god did that just happen" special guest appearances, Hub Dub explores sonic textures with a spontaneous and joyful passion. Whether digging in to a ska anthem, or careening through outer space in a hard hitting Dub, this band brings a party atmosphere to any show. Hub Dub plays a variety of Boston's premier live music venues, and has enjoyed a weekly residency at Devlin's in Brighton center since February 2011
