Event
"Economic Development: What's Health Got to Do With It? The Sequel"
"Economic Development: What's Health Got to Do With It? The Sequel" will be held on June 20, 2013 at the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland. It will bring together Greater Cleveland-area business leaders, policy makers and human resource professionals to discuss workplace health trends, private employer and public-sector driven wellness plans and the impact employee health has on local business and our economy.
This year's half-day forum will include a prominent keynote address by Jeff Levi, PhD, of Trust for America's Health as well as two panel discussions showcasing public and private sector examples of promising practices.
A highlight of this year's event will be a debate between Al Lewis of the Disease Management Purchasing Consortium International, Inc. and Michael O'Donnell, MBA, MPH, PhD, of the University of Michigan and the American Journal of Health Promotion. The debate is designed to bring into sharp relief those strategies that are more hype than help and will be moderated by Ned Hill, Dean of The Maxine Goodman College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University.
The InterContinental's state-of-the-art facilities will also allow for creative opportunities for audience engagement. A committee comprised of representatives from business, policy and research institutions has been formed and is helping to plan the event.
