Event
Petersen Family Benefit
Thank you for joining us to support Laura and Terry on their journey together. We are bringing together everyone whose lives they have touched to provide support and encouragement as they prepare for surgery.
We are hosting a benefit to help with the numerous costs involved on May 18th at 1pm at the Claddaugh Irish Pub in Maple Grove, MN. featuring a silent auction and a performance by the Holy Rocka Rollaz.
ALL profits will go directly toward the expenses associated with Terry and Laura's kidney transplant surgeries.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $4 for kids. This includes admission to the event, access to all of the silent auction items and appetizers provided by Claddaugh Irish Pub.
It is a great time for a great cause, so come join the fun with the Holy Rocka Rollaz!!
If it's the classic early rock 'n' roll of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash (and many more!) that you want, played just the way those legends played it then you have found your dream band! Minnesota's own Holy Rocka Rollaz bring back the sound, the look, the memories and nostalgia of one of America's most treasured eras. There's nothing but PURE EARLY AMERICAN ROCK 'n' ROLL about them.
EXPERIENCED & FAMILY FRIENDLY
Nothing would please these rock 'n' roll veterans more than seeing different generations enjoying this classic music together. The Holy Rocka Rollaz play with such energy and joy that people of all ages can't help but pack the dance floor and celebrate. The trio collectively brings decades of live and studio experience to their shows and music.
Front man Mark Flora says his proudest moment came while playing the legendary Surf Ballroom in 2007. "Knowing that I was singing and playing guitar in the same spot on the stage Buddy Holly played his last show, well, it just gave me chills," he said.
With fellow musicians, standup bassist Paul Jongeward and drummer Matt Alexander, the three musicians have played many stages; including the huge Back To the '50s Car Show at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, First Avenue, the Cabooze, the historic Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, the Hinckley Grand Casino Concert Hall, the Uptown Bar, the Fine Line, the 400 Bar, wedding dances, barn dances, car shows, sock hops, private shows and prisons. Mark's wife, Lisa, and Matt's wife, Steph, often join them on vocals.
Actually, the band's first show together was in the South Dakota State Penitentiary several years ago, serving in a ministry capacity, where Flora has been sharing good news to inmates for eight years. "We were having so much fun playing in the State Pen that we decided to take our music to car shows and other events. We really do enjoy playing 50s rock 'n' roll just the way it was played back in the day. Seeing people light up when we really go for it brings this band a lot of joy. We hope we can do this for many years and for many people," said Flora.
