Vocal Showcase: Tuesday Velasco, Debby Boland Watt, Julie Olson & Dina Blade/ Seattle Women in Jazz Festival
This special four-part concert is being presented as part of the Seattle Women in Jazz Festival. *Doors open at 6:30 pm.
Featured Performers:
Guitarist/Vocalist Tuesday Velasco is a dynamic, gifted musician whose influences range from jazz to blues to hip-hop. She is blessed with a vocal chords that radiate soul, a knack for penning intelligent lyric.
Debby Boland Watt, a jazz vocalist, improv arts educator & composer, earned her Master of Fine Arts - Interdisciplinary Arts Degree from Goddard College, studying Performance Art, Improvisation and Spontaneous Composition and was a Vocal Jazz major at Cornish College of the Arts. Debby recently joined Bobby McFerrin while continuing her studies of a vocal improvisational form called: "Song Circles." Debby will be performing with pianist Hans Brehmer in this upcoming appearance at LUCID.
Julie Olson is a jazz vocalist from Seattle whose repertoire includes jazz standards, bossa nova and other latin jazz and pop tunes. She will be performing with jazz guitarist Michael Biller at this upcoming appearance at LUCID. In addition to performing, Julie is also emceeing at a variety of venues throughout the city.
Dina Blade is a jazz vocalist and guitarist from Seattle who is known for her relaxed and swinging sound. A charming and engaging artist, she has toured and performed in the U.S., Canada, Cuba and Brazil. Dina performs jazz and bossa nova concerts as well as themed shows featuring 30s and 40s popular classics.
