Homesteading & Preparedness workshop with Daniel Vitalis and Frank Giglio
Homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency & Preparedness refers to a very concrete research based set of actions that are taken as precautionary measures in the face of potential disasters. with Daniel Vitalis & Frank Giglio
Friday Evening $40
5:00pm - 7:00 pm Daniel to give "ReWild Yourself Lecture" This fun and invigorating talk explores the origin of human diet, the dramatic changes that have taken place since the time of our ancient ancestors, and the strategies we can use to once again reclaim our ancestral health!
7:30pm - 9:00pm Frank to give "Urban Homesteading Kitchen Setup" In this class, Frank will provide practical information on how to set up your kitchen to become efficient for cooking, creating medicine, and nourishing your family.
Saturday Morning $50
9:30am - 11:30am Daniel to discuss "Food and Water" A class on personal food and water sovereignty, we will be discussing healthy and balanced strategies for creating short or longer term food and water storage.
12:15pm - 2:15pm Frank to discuss "Food/Water Storage and Gardening" Learn basic essentials around food and water storage. Keep your food storage items free from critters, mold, etc.. Basic gardening principles that can be implemented in any environment.
Saturday Afternoon $50 BOTH SAT. Sessions $85
3:00pm - 5:00pm Daniel on "Protection from the Elements, and Fire, Fuel, and Batteries" This informative workshop will focus on some basics preparations we can make now for a short or longer term "grid down" situation, where our electricity and heating are not as available as we are used to.
5:30pm - 7:30pm Frank to discuss "Fermentation and Canning" Live demo and basic tips and tricks to upgrading nutritional properties of food thru the use of fermented foods. With canning, Frank will show how we can store food for long term storage.
Sunday Morning $50
10:00am - 12:00pm Daniel to discuss "GoBags" and Gold/Silver In Go Bags we will look at creating a 24 - 72 hour pack for you and your loved ones should you choose to evacuate your home at a moments notice. In Gold and Silver we will look at precious metals as a safe haven in financial slumps, or times of economic hardship, and at their role in a barter economy.
1:00pm - 3:00pm Frank to discuss "Value added" food prep for "trade and barter" How to turn your bounty in cash crops. Learn what foods to store in quantity, what has value for barter or trade.
3:30pm - 4:30pm Workshop Wrap-up: Q & A with Daniel and Frank
