College of Marin Symphony Orchestra
College of Marin Symphony Orchestra Jim Stopher, director
The symphony has been a proving ground for composers since the 18th century, and on this program you'll hear two colossal masterworks in the genre! William Grant Still's Afro-American Symphony weaves novel elements of jazz, blues, and spirituals into a traditional structure, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 takes the listener on a remarkable journey from darkness to light.
